Buenos Aires, November 23 (NA) – The Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli, is preparing for a new week of meetings with governors with the aim of finalizing the first contact with the two dozen provincial leaders allied to the Casa Rosada before December 10, the date on which the Executive Branch will begin extraordinary sessions in the National Congress. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, the official will travel next Tuesday to Misiones to meet with Governor Hugo Passalacqua. The provincial governor, together with Misiones leader Carlos Rovira, controls a bloc of four deputies and two senators. In building support to approve the 2026 Budget and, in the immediate term, the labor reform they are working on, Santilli is betting on listening to the remaining provincial governors to detect their demands and offer limited compensation in exchange for legislative support. Last Friday, he met with Gerardo Zamora in Santiago del Estero and received his predisposition to support the approval of the 2026 Budget, although he did not refrain from raising some claims related to funds. Once the dialogue with the allies who accompanied the May Pact is concluded, the former PRO legislator's idea is to evaluate the next steps with the four Peronist governors: Axel Kicillof (Buenos Aires), Ricardo Quintela (La Rioja), Gildo Insfrán (Formosa), and Gustavo Melella (Tierra del Fuego). Contact still needs to be established with Claudio Vidal (Santa Cruz), Gustavo Valdés (Corrientes), Sergio Ziliotto (La Pampa), Claudio Poggi (San Luis), Maximiliano Pullaro (Santa Fe), Gustavo Valdés (Corrientes), and Jorge Macri (CABA). With limited resources enabled by the Ministry of Economy led by Luis Caputo, the Minister of the Interior relies on the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, to attend to the requests brought by the governors. Starting November 28, the Santiago del Estero Civic Front leader will take a seat in the Senate and will have power over three senators and seven deputies. For this week, Santilli has in mind the idea of adding an exchange with Jujuy's Carlos Sadir and could summon another representative from the provinces to the Casa Rosada. Likewise, they are defining the legislative strategy in a weekly meeting chaired by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and which includes the presence of the presidential advisor, Santiago Caputo; the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem; and the head of the La Libertad Avanza bloc in the Senate, Patricia Bullrich.
